HTML Tutorial 4
The first thing that will be taught in tutorial 4 is how you can make a comment in your HTML code without it affecting what the browser displays. The code for a comment is <!-- a comment -->. Using this will enable you to give yourself some hints of what you were doing so when you look back at the code you know what is going on.
This is the code:
<html>
<head>
<title>
</title>
</head>
<body>
<!-- I put a paragraph here -->
<p> Hello and welcome to my website </p>
</body>
</html>
If you save this and open it in a browser you will notice that what you put between the comment tag is not showing up and that means it has done correctly. The second thing that will be covered in tutorial 4 is line breaks. The code for a line break is just <br>. If you have not noticed the line break code does not require an end tag. So now you can use this to break your sentences or lines into smaller chunks without having to just write until it goes to the next line by itself.
This is the code:
<html>
<head>
<title>
</title>
</head>
<body>
<!-- This has a line break -->
<p> Hello and welcome to my site. <br> I just want to tell you this sentence is on a different line. </p>
</body>
</html>
So if you save this and open it in a browser you will see one line with the first sentence and a second line with the second sentence.
